(KOPPAL) from Germany. His birth was Feb. 22, 1822.
He married PRUDENCE NEWCOMB on Oct. 30, 1844 in Charlotte Co., Va.
PRUDENCE's parents were THOMAS NEWCOMB & POLLY/MARY HENDRICK- NEWCOMB, also of Charlotte Co. During this marriage 5 children were born.
1) Sarah Ann Copal-LINDSAY
2) Margaret Copal-WILKERSON
3) Fannie Copal-THOMAS
4) David F. COPAL
5) Kate Copal-NEWCOMB

Southern Railroad in Saxe, VA
This photo of Saxe, VA, was taken in the early 1900's. This was when the "ghost-like town" of today, was a thriving town. But when the Southern Railroad no longer ran into Saxe, around 1960, things changed enormously.

John D Copal of Goode, Bedford County, VA was born on February 14, 1927, and died at age 74 years old on August 19, 2001.

fall from a roof.
They were married 52 years.

This is a photo of my ggGrandfather, Abraham Copal. The woman and child are unknown. We believe this could be his second wife, Mary E. Aronburgh-Copal from KY. Their Marriage Certificate (Union Co., KY) was dated Jan 10, 1889. He was stated as being 66 yrs old and Mary was 27 yrs old.
