J Kirkpatrick Don't know if you already have the date, but his pants crease shows this to be after 1892. Probably 1900-1902 from their ages, but they were still wearing 1890s style dress clothes.

J Kirkpatrick In order to date a photo, it helps to see the entire front, including the type of edges, and the reverse side, whether it is colored, printed, etc. This photo did not come out very clear over the internet, but may have been about 1880. The vignetting of the subjects, gives a certain time frame, in itself. (That's redundant!) Of course that means they would probably be Edwin Allen's grandparents, based on ages.

J Kirkpatrick This style tintype in a white oval paper frame, was common around 1870. So this 16-18 year old boy is probably a close relative born about 1842.

J Kirkpatrick Sarah's father had a sister also named Sarah Ann. Their father was Edward; according to Laura Taylor's application for Guion Miller Role.

J Kirkpatrick Jay Thompson lists Sarah as born 1834; by 1855, she was 21, which looks correct. She COULD have been on the Trail of Tears as a baby. There were no photos in this area before 1850.
