Mallory Smith Mary Elizabeth Hisey was born 1842 in Clark co Ohio, lived in Stephenson co Il and went back to Ohio to marry Seth in 1864 while he was working in an infirmary and died 1923 in Kansas City MO. She was the niece of Wm. Hale Winchester who lived very near the Emerys on the Stephenson co line in IL. Hale's daughter Harriet married Jonathan Burrill, brother of Charles Wesley Burrill who married Viance Emery. Hale's daughter Paulina married immediate neighbor William Tunks who was also from clark co Ohio. After Paulina died in 1849 he married Armadilla McIntire whose sister Prudence married Josiah Bartlett Emery. And, finally, William Tunks married third, Candace Sarah Emery sister to Viance and Josiah.

Mallory Smith The original homestead was cleared by one of the Atkinsons and the first school was built on the property.

Mallory Smith Montevallo is in Vernon co Missouri. It was essentially burned to the ground by Federal Troops chasing Confederate raiders.

Mallory Smith Correction: Elsie Jane Luce was born 1827 Onieda co NY. The picture was taken about Dec 1875. Elsie married Jasper Benjamin Mallory b 1831 in 1853 Stephenson co IL

Mallory Smith PS: The Daniels boys mother, Elizabeth Mallory Daniels, died of TB in 1891 and father Henry Brown Daniels moved to a farm outside of Elwood NE. With the approach of WWI the boys moved to British Columbia where Jasper became a forest ranger and timber cruiser....Daniels River named after him and Lois Lake after his daughter) Henry owned a restaurant and like his father became a dog trainer... he trained one for Betty Davis. Jasper's son Jasper Mallory Daniels Jr became a famous wooden ship builder and self-trained artist. He changed his name to Allen Farrell in 1955. Two books have been written about his life, Sailing Back in Time and Salt on the Wind. He is in the encyclopedia of Canada and his art may be viewed by googling allen Farrell. He died in Mar 2002.
