Even if you didn't adjust for inflation, JFK would rank among the richest U.S. Presidents. The name "Kennedy" is synonymous with wealth in the United States.

How he made his riches

JFK's wealth was inherited from his father Joseph Kennedy Sr, who took his family from middle class to incredible fortune. Joseph's business ventures included stock trading, banking, movie production, and selling liquor. Because he pulled money out of the markets right before the stock market crash of 1929, the Kennedy's remained one of the wealthiest families during the Great Depression.
