Born in Scranton, Anne was the daughter of the late Anthony and Louise Peredny Barkauskas.
A true volunteer, Anne read to the blind and helped at St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen on Penn Ave. in Scranton, Pa. where she received a service plaque from Msgr. Siconolfi.
A woman of grace and beauty. Anne loved to shop and was always dressed impeccably in the latest style. During her later years, She and Pete, along with friends Anna and George Linko, were avid ballroom dancers happily waltzing in gorgeous gowns at the David Blight School of Dance in Scranton.
They also enjoyed Scranton's Commumity Concerts, Broadway Theater League, and traveling to the Caribbean.
Above all, Anne's greatest joy in life always came from spending time with her loving family. She truly cherished every moment she shared with her loved ones both at home and at the cottage at Lake Winola, and her presence is missed immensely. (Also missed are her famous pear and raisin pies.) Anne was a saint.
She was survived by her beloved husband, Peter, two adoring sons, Edward, Mechanicsburg, and George (Katheryn), Las Vegas; a loving daughter, Louise Reina, Tarriffville, Conn.; two sisters, Domacella Pittsman, Mayfield, and Sister M. Amadeus, C.J.C., St. Mary's Villa, and brother-in-law, August; five grandchildren: Stephen, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Carolynne, and Amy; nieces and nephews, extended family and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dominick and Charles; and son-in-law, Charles Reina.
