Plains Veterans in U. S. Ports

Twenty-seven men from this area arrived on Jan. 17 and 18 at New York and Tacoma aboard four ships, according to Associated Press dispatches.

Cpl. James P. Tyler, Memphis; Sgt. James F. Scott, Childress, and Cpl. Arthur L. Lane, Quanah, were due Jan. 17 on the USS Victory at New York.

Also docking at New York on Jan. 18 was the George Washington. Listed on board were Cpl. Lonnie W. Harris, Quanah; Sgt. James A. Lookingbill, Quanah; Sgt. Lyle I. Harman, Borger, Pfc, Paul P. Ferguson, Perryton; Pfc. Kas W.Smith, Borger; Lt. Burlin V. Wilson, Wellington; Sgt. James C. Kersten, Wellington; Technical Sgt. Norman N. McCrary, Clarendon; Sgt. Guy C. Elkins, Canadian.

Cpl. Lindsay G. McWilliams, Perryton; Sgt. J. R. Caldwell, Floydada; Cpl. Harold W. Eakes, Panhandle; Cpl. Fred L. Carter, Quanah; Pfc. Bishop W. Alexander, Wellington; Pfc. Henry Baker, Crosbyton; Cpl. Jesse A. Gillham, Brownfield; Pfc. Raymond Torres, Clovis; and Cpl. James E. Seaton, Carlsbad.

Lt. Col Geroge L. Poor, Alamogordo, was due Jan. 18 at New York on the John Howland.

On the USS George Elliott due at Tacoma Jan. 18 were PFC. Albert B. Aragon, Clayton; and Pfc. Ira L. Taylor, Vaughn.
