Charles Eric Norris 1884 - 1968

Charles Eric Norris was born in 1884 in Franklin, Huon Valley Council County, TAS Australia to Joseph Norris and Susannah Emily (Petterd) Norris, and had siblings Myra Amelia Hammond and Frederick Gordon Norris. He married Ruby Eliza (Sherwin) Norris, and had children Eric Maxwell Sherwin Norris and Jean Norris. Charles Norris died at age 84 years old in 1968 in Huonville, and was buried at Cornelian Bay in New Town, Hobart City Council County.

In 1884, in the year that Charles Eric Norris was born, on December 6th, the Washington Monument was completed. Building began in 1848 but was stopped because of lack of funds and also due to the Civil War. It would be dedicated in 1885. At the time of its completion, it was the tallest structure in the world.

In 1908, by the time he was 24 years old, a mysterious Siberian explosion leveled over 770 square miles of forest. There were no human casualties. Explanations of the explosion have included a comet, meteorite, natural atomic explosion, or a crashed UFO. Although it is called an impact event - the largest one in recorded earth history - there is no crater and it is widely thought that the explosion was caused by a meteor exploding 3 to 6 miles above the earth.
