He had siblings Albert Ernest Rerden, James William Rerdon, Oscar Arthur Rerden, Edwin Joseph Rerden, and Florence Maud (Rerden) Williams. He married Margaret Agnes (Cleary) Rerden in 1888, and had children Charles Albert Edwin Rerden, Arthur Ernest Rerden, and Philip Herbert Rerden. Charles Rerden died at age 46 years old on June 19, 1911 in Muckleford, VIC Australia.
