Charles Thomas Simons 1881 - 1947

Charles Thomas Simons of Fenton's Creek, Loddon Shire County, Victoria Australia was born in 1881 in VIC to Charles Thomas Simons and Eliza Jane Birtherisel. He had siblings Jane Maria Simons, Ellen Simons Wheelhouse, Susan Henderson Simons, Sarah (Simons) Lindorff, Harriet Lavinia Simons, James Simons, and William George Simons. He married Maud Mary (Martin) Simons in 1903, and had children Lilly Simons, William Simons, May Simons, Emily Simons, Amy Simons, Lily Simons, and Alfred Simons. Charles Simons died at age 65 years old on October 16, 1947 in Fenton's Creek, and was buried at Rheola Cemetery, in Rheola.

In 1881, in the year that Charles Thomas Simons was born, on October 26th, the "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" happened in Tombstone, Arizona. The gunfight lasted only 30 seconds - the Earps and Doc Holliday on one side and the "Cowboys" on the other side. The McLaury brothers and Billy Clanton of the Cowboys were killed. Two of the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday were wounded.

In 1918, at the age of 37 years old, Charles was alive when in July, Russian revolutionaries executed the former Tzar Nicholas II and his immediate family. While it was rumored that two of the children had survived, it was later proven through DNA analysis - when their bodies were found - that the entire family had been killed.
