I was designing and selling fancy brass signs in the Actors' Equity Building on 46th Street in Manhattan and I saw a sign that had the name HART on it and said, "Whose baby boy are you?" And he said, "Moss Hart." I said, "Your Dad was my idol. I wrote him a letter after his first heart attack and he wrote me back. I had the letter custom framed and it's been in my apartment on the wall since 1964." His reaction was subdued because he didn't believe me. The next day I went to his office with my framed letter and he was deeply touched. His letters were in a drawer, I told him to get them all framed and line his office with them.

More than a year later he called out to me on the street in Greenwich Village, "Sign Lady! Sign Lady?" I said "HUH?" And he said, "Christopher Hart!" I was all smiles. Later he moved to California and has made a name for himself as a producer in California and on Broadway.
