Clarence Douglas Hill was born on June 18, 1917 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia United States to Florence Prudence (Henderson) Hill and William Thomas Hill, and had siblings William Henry Hill Sr., Richard Bernard Hill Sr., Edgar Thomas Hill, Mary Annie Hill, Clara Gladys (Hill) Sadler Woodson, Charlie Lester Hill Sr., Lelia Florence (Hill) Bryant, and Ruth Inez (Hill) Barber New. He married Lena Frances Jordan Hill Wallace on December 17, 1938 in Pittsylvania County, and they were married until Clarence's death on January 18, 1951 in Danville. Clarence Hill had a child Frances Lee (Hill) Shumate Engen.
