Edgar Thomas Hill was born on November 19, 1908 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia United States to Florence Prudence (Henderson) Hill and William Thomas Hill, and had siblings William Henry Hill, Richard Bernard Hill, Mary Annie Hill, Clara Gladys (Hill) Sadler Woodson, Charlie Lester Hill Sr., Clarence Douglas Hill, Lelia Florence (Hill) Bryant, and Ruth Inez (Hill) Barber New. He married Olive Virginia Davis Hill on November 10, 1928, and they were married until Edgar's death on June 12, 1977 in Reidsville, Rockingham County, North Carolina. Edgar Hill had children Dorothy Ann (Hill) Fuqua, Mary Jane (Hill) Godsey, and Betty Lou (Hill) Yeatts.
