Connie’s Birth made the papers.
I never saw the article, but heard that when Connie was born, she was named the Fire Baby. There was a fire on the night of October 4, 1947. Connie was born at the Flucard’s home. The fire, led the Flucard home to have no electricity. Merridy Rae was worried that the doctor would not be able to see. The doctor was an older man who had plenty of experience joked he could deliver the baby with his eyes closed.
