Dulcie Eleanor (Barrow) Brabin was born in 1888 in Crystal Brook, Port Pirie Regional Council County, SA Australia to Charlotte Eleanor (Harris) Barrow and Richard John Barrow, and had siblings John Varian Barrow, Lionel Richard Barrow, Stella Broughton (Barrow) Thomas, Eveline Crystal (Barrow) Brabin, and Lucy Emma Barrow. She married Thomas James Brabin, and they were married until death separated them. Dulcie Brabin died at age 84 years old on August 30, 1973, and was buried at Junee Cemetery, Gundagai Rd, in Junee, Junee Shire Council County, NSW.

In 1903, Dulcie was merely 15 years old when the silent film, The Great Train Robbery opened. Although it was filmed in Milltown, New Jersey, it was a Western. Twelve minutes long, the film used a lot of innovative techniques - some scenes were hand colored and composite editing, on-location shooting, and frequent camera movement were used. Its budget was $150 (about $4000 currently) and was the most popular film until 1915 when Birth of a Nation was released.
