My grandmother. We called her Nana. She got her undergraduate degree at Carnegie-Mellon University about 1929 or so . Sometime in the 1930's she married Calvert D. Camlin. Legend has it that his family temporarily disowned him at the time . Needless to say the marriage failed by decades end. He remarried someone his family liked in 1942. But not before fathering my dad Donn C Camlin , born in 1937. Her story is that Calvert shunned work & she shunned him. It was the depression so there's likely some truth here. But I suspect his interest in singing & theater meant that the work he did wasn't paying the bills & she was fed up while he awaited his big break. Sometime during the war she got an MSW at the University of Wisconsin at Steven's Point & she and my dad moved to East Cleveland Ohio . She lived another 50+ years . Today her descendants are numerous & scattered . In 1937 she had 1.
