He had siblings Lillian Jessie Larter, Helena Ethel Larter, Alfred Ernest Larter, Edwin Herbert Larter, Arthur Stanley Larter, Doris Edith Larter, Louisa Mary (Larter) Hobbs, and William Joseph Orton Larter. He married Lillian Florence Mary (Smith) Larter in 1914, and had children Frederick Arthur Larter, Hazel Lillian Larter, Percival Charles Larter, and Shirley Louisa Larter. Frederick Larter died at age 64 years old in 1954 in Heidelberg.
