Hearty Guditta (Carter) Devenport was born in 1864 to James Christmas Carter and Antonia Carter, and had siblings Charles Edd Carter, Mabel (Carter) Vassalli, Louisa Carmena (Carter) Dann, and Lenna Sarah (Carter) Elms. She married George Napier Devenport on September 9, 1886 in Albert Park, Port Phillip City County, Victoria Australia, and they were married until death separated them. She had children Charles Napier Devenport, Leslie George Devenport, and Victor Sturt Devenport. Hearty Devenport died at age 50 years old on May 27, 1915 in Daylesford, Hepburn Shire County, VIC Australia.
