He had siblings Harold Ellsworth Scarlett, Hazel Louise Scarlett, Elva Helen Scarlett, Alma Gertrude Scarlett, and Marie Anna Scarlett. Homer Scarlett married Olive L. Gilliand, and died at age 79 years old on May 18, 1987 in Valley Falls, Jefferson County.
