John Twiddy was born in 1858 to Robert Twiddy and Susanna (Wooding) Twiddy, and had siblings Esther (Twiddy) Roberts, Rebecca (Twiddy) Gregson, Alice Maud (Twiddy) Petterd, Albert Twiddy, Emma (Twiddy) Starr, Maurice Twiddy, and Cornelius Twiddy. He married Mary (Fitzpatrick) Twiddy, and died at age 55 years old on August 2, 1914 at Kew Hospital in Kew, VIC Australia. John Twiddy was buried on August 7, 1914 at Wedderburn Cemetery in Wedderburn.

    Married 1893. The Bendigo Advertiser.- 6th August 1914. OBITUARY. Our Wedderburn correspondent writes.- Mr. John Twiddy, a highly respected resident, eldest son of one of the old pioneer families of Wedderburn, died in Melbourne on Sunday, and was buried here on Tuesday. The deceased gentleman, who was 56 years of age, had been in Melbourne under medical treatment for some months. A widow survives. Deceased was a brother of Mr. George Twiddy, Mrs. Gregson, Mrs. F. J. Petterd (Wedderburn), Mrs. Roberts ( Bendigo ), and Mrs. Starr (Melbourne). The Bendigo Advertiser.- 12th January 1912. Wedderburn. Mr. John Twiddy, a well known resident, was accidentally thrown from a cart yesterday, and sustained fractures of several ribs. John worked on a lot of different farms in N.S.W., Tank sinking.-digging the earth out on a property for a dam, usually with a team of bullocks or draught horses.

    August, 1914. MR. JOHN TWIDDY. It is with regret that we record the death of Mr. John Twiddy, a very well known and highly esteemed resident of Wedderburn, and a member of a well known district family. Mr. Twiddy had been ailing for a considerable period, suffering from progressive paralysis. Towards the end of last week he went to Melbourne for treatment, and after a time became an inmate of Kew Hospital. The late Mr. Twiddy was a native of Wedderburn, and was 54 years of age. When a young man he left his home, and spent some years in New South Wales, tank sinking and working on various stations He returned to Wedderburn and took over the care of his fathers vineyard. He was a member of the cemetery trust and was also treasurer of the local football club. Deceased leaves a widow, for whom much sympathy is felt.
