This was extraordinary for a young girl in these days. The family gifted her a special silver graduation cross necklace with the date engraved on the back. She made a special gift of this to her niece, Marcia Kathleen Kirwan (Standley) when she completed her high school diploma at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy (FSHA) and went on to Stanford University to become a graduate in 1957.

Josephine (Kincaid) Jones with her niece Marcia (Kirwan) Standley: Here is Great Aunt Jo with my mother at the Los Angeles home in about 1938. Josephine was the sister of Lucy Emma Cecelia Kincaid Ledford and they shared a mother, Domitilla Aguilar Kincaid - a pioneer family of CALIFORNIA from Spain.
