Lucretia Catherine Lewis 1867 - 1918

Lucretia Catherine Lewis was born on July 17, 1867 in Cape Breton County, NS to Frederick James Lewis Jr and Mary Ann Morrison, and had a sister Florence Jay Lewis. She was in a relationship with John Charles Morley, and had a child Martha Irene Morley. Lucretia Lewis died at age 50 years old in June 1918 in Boston, Suffolk County, MA, and was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, Middlesex County.

    Lewis, Neale / Newell, Morley, Morrison, were part of the Mi'kmaq peoples' diaspora from Mi'kma'ki in the late 1800s. Lucretia Catherine Lewis, the daughter of Jane Eleanor Newell and Frederick James Lewis Jr of Wunamaki (Cape Breton NS), married East Boston, Suffolk MA to John Charles Morley (1860 - 1940). They were the parents of at least six children, four daughters (Etta Louise, Martha Irene, Ruth Eleanor, Blanche Lillian) and two sons (Ralph L., Robert I.) all born MA.
