William Cotton, Sr., --- Son of the American immigrants, was born in Washington County, Penns., July 16, 1762. His wife, Mary Scott, daughter of Josiah an Violet Scott, who immigrated from Scotland very early. Mary Scott was born in Scotland.
Very early in this century., Mr. Cotton became one of the first settlers of Pulaski townsjip. He purchased some four or five hundred acres of land from the United States Government, spent his days upon the soil, and died December 1841, in the eightieth year of his age.
William Cotton Sr was six feet in height, well built, with dark hair and eyes, and never a day of sickness till his life was about spent, Issue 14 children ( records indicate ).
