In 1897, in the year that Mymie Wilson was born, on September 21st, editor and publisher Francis P. Church responded to a letter to the editor from Virginia O'Hanlon, 8 years old. Church responded with the now famous editorial "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus".

In 1905, Mymie was merely 8 years old when acclaimed dancer Isadora Duncan established the first school of modern dance in Berlin Germany. Her focus on the movement of the human body rather than formal kinds of dance helped to give rise to the modern dance movement.

In 1912, this person was only 15 years old when the Girl Scouts of the USA was started by Juliette Gordon Low with the help of Sir Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Boy Scouts in Great Britain. In 1939, when this person was 42 years old, in May, Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length animated film, reached a total international gross of $6.5 million which made it (to then) the most successful sound film of all time. At the 11th Academy Awards in February 1939, Walt Disney won an Academy Honorary Award - a full-size Oscar statuette and seven miniature ones - for Snow White.
