Daniel Pinna:
Recipe: Grandma Tasker's Pineapple Upside Down Cake - This recipe was given to Joyce by Mary Ann (Jones) Tasker. It's my mother's Kathleen Rae (Kroetch) Pinna favorite desert that she often eats on her birthdays.
It's a spongy cake with some flavor because of the pineapple juice - not just a plain white cake.
Topping:
Melt 1/2 cup butter in a 8" - 9" iron skillet
Add 1 cup brown sugar
Put pineapple slices on top with cherries in the middle (usually about 7)
Cake:
Separate 2 eggs. Beat yolks, add 1 cup white sugar, 5 tablespoons pineapple juice
Sift in 1 cup of flour with 1 teaspoon baking powder.
Beat eggs whites to stiff peaks and fold into above mixture.
Pour over topping.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 45-60 minutes.
Cool, then turn out on a plate.
Nat Jensen:
Gary Jensen was my father, a hard working, kind-hearted, funny dad. One gone too soon. He was born in Bakersfield, CA and died in Redding, CA. He is survived by his mother, Melba Jensen, his son Nathaniel Jensen, and his sisters Leslie Mitchem and Karen Van Hoosen, along with many of his nieces and nephews.
James Eiden:

James’s parents were Betty Eiden & Paul Eiden
Vince lived at this home, most of his life, especially as a child. This was a bar known as the Wagner Inn. Hence his favorite story was we need to ask a mother for a drink of soda. She denied him and gave him beer instead. Back in that era late 1800s early 1935 many deaths and sickness had occurred from bad water. Because beer and other liquor was distilled, it was purified, and those who drank it were healthier.

Jesse Cornwell is my grandfather and I myself did not know him but his son Charles Edward Cornwell was my daddy and he told me some about him Jesse was married to Edith Francis Ammon and they had 3kis Jesse Francis Cornwell. Charles Edward Cornwell and Melvin Franklin Cornwell. Mrs Cornwell later to a Mr Martin and she passed away in Detroit Michigan if anyone knows of the family history I would really like to know thank you and God bless
Cynthia Raysor:
Felicia is my mother - I am Cynthia Raysor the eldest daughter of Felicia Dionne Mobley Raysor. There are seven of us. Three boys and four girls. My mother’s life was cut short at 32 yrs old due to domestic gun violence. I was there went it occurred at our home. I was only 10 yrs old st the time. My mother was a very hard worker. She had just finished college and she was working three jobs to provide for us. I could go on and on, but it will take a whole book to write out her life story.
Adena Harmon:
John was partner to Farrell. Both were great friends during a time when the world felt “crazy fun.” Every year, Razzle Dazzle was one of the most exciting times and I've been reflecting on those years a lot lately. Friends from New Mexico, Colorado, and Michigan would arrive in town, and Linda and I would host unforgettable parties.
Since you loved nursing, Linda and I were honored to have thrown a MAS*H-themed party. There were hot air balloon rides in Taos, and our favorite moments were dining at The Steak Out, watching the sun set between two mountains while a young man strummed his classical guitar.
John, you were a special guy. I mean—what girl could truly say she’d lived if she didn’t know who Divine was?
I would’ve crossed the desert barefoot just to make sure you and Farrell were safe. We faced too many dangerous haters each time we left a restaurant, a club, or a theater. Nights we would kiss and bandage wounds of our neighbors. But in the end, it wasn’t the crowds that stopped us—it was the fear of AIDS that brought everything to a halt.
And your diagnosis was devastating. But you managed to care for your sweet mom until she passed. You were truly a blessing.
In time we become hand-holders, caregivers, storytellers—whatever it meant to be the hands of Christ in our community.
I will carry our friendship with me to the other side.

My Uncle Dean - My uncle Dean was a very nice man who had a pug named Susie. I remember my uncle telling us that she was going to have puppies. I asked him if we could have one of her puppies and he said we would see and that Christmas we got one of her puppies and named her Heidi.
Patricia Fuller:
James was my dad. He was unappreciated in his life. His father Charles abandoned his wife and three children James Charles and Dorothy. Growing up without a father shaped his view of life. He was a career Air Force. He was generous. He would step up and try to help others. He married my mother Maxine and adopted her three young sons. He was a good provider.
M. Montana:
Ketan - You Are Never Forgotten - I met Ketan when I was 10 years old, having to spend summers with my father. I was riding my bike past his home and he wiped out on his BMX. I asked if he was okay and he said yes. Then I met him a few days later through a mutual friend, who always talked about Ketan. We never introduced ourselves when we first met but then were formally introduced by chance a few days later. I spent all my summers as a kid with Ketan who served to give me much needed escape being trapped in a home that was very unwelcoming. He brought love and solace with him but more so it was his ability to make people laugh hysterically that was his true gift. I think about him often and had a dream about him many years ago where he was in an elevator with me and told me something but I just can't remember what he told me. The dream felt so very real, and it was years after he passed away. Lots of Love & Light Ketan - Give Yash a huge hug from me and say hello to your dad for me too.
Amy Palombini:
Amy Palombini - Robert Palombini is my father-in-law. Unfortunately he passed before I met and married his son Samuel so I did not get to meet him in person. Sam and I talk about him often and I always enjoy the stories that begin with, " this one time my Dad....." and it's always a good time. I can tell you a few things that I have heard. He was a kind person, and enjoyed the fine things in life, like good friends, food, etc. He cooked and passed that onto his boys who also enjoy cooking and still try to recreate his signature red onion sauce from Bob's Dogs- the hotdog cart he ran in the Denver area. He enjoyed a good Chianti and we have lifted a glass of Frangelico in honor of his memory. If I could go back in time and meet any one person, I would chose Robert Palombini, so I could know him and how his influence lives on in my husband. Some of the words people use to describe him have been that he had a good sense of humor, he liked to party, he loved to eat, he was strong, brave, and tough. He was awarded the purple heart in Vietnam, among various other military awards. We have very few pictures of Robert, and lost even more in a house fire this year. I know he had friends all over the world, and if any one ever reads this, please share any photos you have. It would mean the world to us.
Henrietta Young:
My paternal Grandmother - She lived in Heath Springs, SC. She was my father's mother (Henry Lewis). She was mixed, Caucasian & Cherokee Indian. Me and my sister lived with her and her youngest child/son (Frank Lewis) for a little while. We later moved on with other relatives (mother passed after having my youngest brother) but we would go back to visit. Everytime I visited she would make me a 3 layer coconut cake. Best cake in the world.
David Kruppenbach II:
My great Uncle Paul - I was the grand nephew of Paul Kruppenbach. He lived in Reading on Bern St. My name is David Paul Kruppenbach, 2nd. Named after my father. We share my great Uncle's first name as our middle name. Uncle Paul used to own and operate a small store next to the Rainbow Fire Co. on Exeter St. I helped my Dad fix our Uncle's roof when I was about 9 or ten years old. He always gave me a roll of wheat pennies. This time, he gave me ten rolls for helping with his roof. He was quite tall, over six feet. I'm not sure exactly, but his brother, my grandfather, Elmer was 6'3", and Uncle Paul was at least as tall or taller. He spoke little, but was always smiling and kind. He used to call me "little David ".
Lydia Steedman:
Grandpa Lyckholm - Melvin Lyckholm was my Grandfather. He was the Father of my Mom (Darlene June Lyckholm) and my Aunt (Betty Lyckholm)
I remember Grandpa and Grandma (Mae Elida Tackala) Lyckholm came to live with us when I was a young teenager. I loved them both very much. We had a 50th wedding anniversary party for them and shortly thereafter they took off for Minnesota to visit friends and family. After visiting Minnesota for only a few weeks, Grandpa became sick and was admitted to the hospital where he passed away from cancer a very short time later. So I never got to see him again. I was 16 1/2 by then. I was so sad. And I remember Grandma coming back from Minnesota without him. I remember hearing her cry at night and it broke my heart. What a sad time for all of us. Grandpa Lyckholm was a good man. I loved him and I still miss him and I am turning 65 this month. You never stop missing people we loved.
