Margaret Rothville's
My Name is warren McAsey and I am Mary Grant Simmons's great grand child.I have only discovered this in the past few years after my fathers death.I have a lot of information now in regards to Mrs simmons (Mary Grant) life after leaving Gippsland in which I would prefer to explain either in person or direct email as some of it quite sad however I can say that she married a Victor Ciron Rothville in Ascot vale vic in 1911.In 1912 they had a child , my nanna Rachel Rothville . I believe that my nanna was part aborigional in fact I'm almost sure. Strangely enough I have lived in several states in Australia I was offered a position in Morwell Vic and we have lived here since 2011
Muriel McAsey's
Muriel Rachel McAsey started life in 1910 she was my nanna. She was born Rachel Rothville and her father Victor Rothville was involved in the 1st world war. Her mother Maggie Black was sent to the sunbury mental assylum and my nanna was adopted by the white family who were jewelers in Essendon Vic. Her mother died in that horrific place apparently back then women were committed for things that today we understand like post natal depression.
Anyway my nanna got pregnant with my father out of wedlock and was sent to Kerrisdale Victoria to keep house for John McAsey who's wife had died. Nanna had my father Frederick James Rothville in 1930 in carlton vic and she married John McAsey. They had 1 child (Katherine McAsey). My father Frederick was both with nanna's maiden name ( Rothville). She never revealed who my fathers, father surname was.
Anyway frederick ( my father) was never adopted to the (mcAsey) name and apparently 3 weeks before he married my mother he changed his name to McAsey by Depol. Confused yet , i am am. Anyway my nanna was an amazing person. Huge influence on me and still i miss her after all these years.
