Daniel Pinna:
Recipe: Grandma Tasker's Pineapple Upside Down Cake - This recipe was given to Joyce by Mary Ann (Jones) Tasker. It's my mother's Kathleen Rae (Kroetch) Pinna favorite desert that she often eats on her birthdays.
It's a spongy cake with some flavor because of the pineapple juice - not just a plain white cake.
Topping:
Melt 1/2 cup butter in a 8" - 9" iron skillet
Add 1 cup brown sugar
Put pineapple slices on top with cherries in the middle (usually about 7)
Cake:
Separate 2 eggs. Beat yolks, add 1 cup white sugar, 5 tablespoons pineapple juice
Sift in 1 cup of flour with 1 teaspoon baking powder.
Beat eggs whites to stiff peaks and fold into above mixture.
Pour over topping.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 45-60 minutes.
Cool, then turn out on a plate.

It was a real blessing and an honor, having known Tonya Renee Yow as my dance teacher. I truly enjoyed every moment that I spend with her. This is my short story about how I had the honor of knowing Tonya Renee Yow.
My Name is Timothy Ray Thompson, and back then I live in Henrico County, Virginia in the Richmond, VA area, and I still do as of January 1, 2022. It was in 1985 that I walked into an Arthur Murray Dance Studio (School) on west broad street in Henrico County, Virginia.

I was a student for 3 1/2 years and Tonya Renee Yow was teaching me how to dance. She was the very last teacher that I had before I taught ballroom dancing. The year was about 1987/1988. Tonya’s sister Theresa Vaughan was the manager of Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Tonya Renee Yow had such a calm, sweet personality, and I could tell she had a great spirit about her.
In my mind, I thought to myself that I would have loved to have dated Tonya Renee Yow. She would have been my dream girl. I am just saying! There were rules at the dance Studio that would have prevented that. However, just the same, I was shy with woman, and so I kept my thoughts to myself. She gave me lessons, and we danced together, and I enjoyed every moment with her. We danced a foxtrot routine together at a showcase. I have this routine on DVD as we practiced this before the exhibition, which would have been in a hotel in the Richmond, VA area. I have some videos of us dancing together as we practiced.
During this time in my life, (1988) I was given the opportunity to teach Ballroom Dancing at the studio in Silver Spring, Maryland.
During the last lesson I had with Ms. Yow, she had a sore on her lip. Now I was preparing to move to Silver Spring, Maryland, when I got the news that Tonya Yow had Cancer and I was learning why she had a sore on her lip. I was told by Teresa Vaughan that she had fainted on the dance floor and was taken to the hospital. I was told that she was teaching a lesson and passed out. All I know is she died within two years of the time she passed out on the dance floor.
I wish I could talk to Tonya. I think most people would consider me nuts if I were to say that I have had dreams and wish we could have been together, married forever. I love her! But our paths went in different directions. After all, I look back at dancing and it was the most enjoyable time of my life and Tonya was a beautiful woman with a tremendous calming spirit, and I love that about her, for she could be silly at times, full of life.
As a student once in a while, I could have my dancing filmed on video. I watch the video later and noticed Tonya blushing at the camera. She is so precious.
Another moment when Terry Dean was filming us; Tonya would wink at Terry. This was Tonya Yow being silly. She was, in my heart, the one person who could light up a room. I believe marriage can be forever and so I pray she will wait for me on the other side. But even if that were true, I have a life here and have much to do. But my memory of Tonya Yow will always be in my heart. It is just the way I am, and I don’t stop loving people just because decades have passed away. Now as I have become much older I love her even more. The memory becomes even more sharper, proving love never fades.
Thank You, Tonya Renee Yow, for the best moment of my life. Time seems so short, but I treasure my memory of a beautiful lady, and that is Tonya Renee Yow for sure. How I wish you could come back to me, but one day we will meet again. If anyone reads this and has information on Tonya Yow, please let me know.

Dear God, Can I be with Tonya Renee Yow one day forever as my companion? Please. Not my will, but thy will be done. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen. Only if she would have me, her free will.

MAY 26, 1941 - NOVEMBER 7, 2019 Carol A. Osborne passed away at her home on November 7, 2019. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2019 in the Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Graveside services will be private. Carol was born to Ulyess and Etta Chriscoe on May 26, 1941. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Yow, husband, Cecil Osborne, and sister, Mae Koromhs. She is survived by her sister, Alice Gray; children, Debbie Yow Nayman and husband John, Teresa Yow Bean and husband Kenneth, Billy Yow and wife Keri, Crystal Yow Foster and husband David, John Chriscoe; stepchildren, Robert Osborne Jr. and wife Mindy, David Osborne; grandchildren, Brandy Yow Johnson and husband Matt, Colon Yow and fiancée Ashley, Kevin Foster and wife Eden and Cameron Foster; great-grandchildren, Adison Johnson, Jack and Elliot Foster. He was never poor and owned brownstones because he had a grocery store, sculpted in marble for his relatives in the funeral business, sold insurance, and played the trumpet.
His sons were encouraged to play instruments, write songs and be artistic. But he refused to send his only daughter to high school, so she ran away from home and went to high school in Deighton, Kansas. He kept her from graduating from High School by saying that her mother was dying. I knew my grandfather, and he was a cheapskate.
At his house, we were forced to sleep on the floor in front of a noisy grandfather clock.
The bathroom was on the first floor and attached to the house, so it was freezing cold in the winter. My grandmother fell off the roof twice while doing laundry. I guess that is an Italian-Catholic excuse to cover up for her suicide.
Marilyn Keough:
Quite a Character - Gramma was beautiful and kind. She spoke English quite well, but couldn’t spell (including our names:) correctly for beans. She could cook (and sew and crochet) like nobody else’s business! We all probably lost 10 pounds after she passed away… and she had quite a “leadfoot” while driving, which we always would kid her about.
She had a smile that could light up the room, and hugs that could cure just about anything.
I will love you forever, Gramma 💕

Booper Smith - Hailey Stelzel was my daughter. The most precious love of my life, along with her brother Tyler. She was the absolute best person that I had ever known, she was the most caring, loving, exciting young lady. And i am so privileged to have been her mother. I miss her adorable crooked little smile and her gorgeous green eyes. She brought so much joy and happiness into my life, it has been unbearable living without her. Even though it has been almost 20 years since she passed away the pain has never gotten any easier to deal with, I always wonder what she would have been like if she were still with us. Part of my soul died the day I lost her and the only reason I survived was because of my beautiful blue eyed baby boy Tyler. I miss Hailey immensely every day. I would gladly give my life for hers. But that isn't possible. I love her and miss her and so does Tyler. Until we meet again my sweet Booper Smith.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Richard Cobb:
Brother - Joe was my brother who took his life in December 1972. I still greatly miss him to this day. He was a Doctor of Physiology for the University of Oregon where he got his PHD. He received his bachelor's degree from Harvard University in 1956. He went through very difficult times as he went to psychiatrists for many years. I believe he would be alive today if he had access to the medications now available for his bi-polar personality. He was 10 years older than me, but we definitely had a strong connection. I love and miss him greatly.

Pappaw - My grandfather -Pappaw- was such a good man. He loved the Lord and served in his church regularly. He loved shuffle board and working with tools. He taught me to be a man and showed me how to sharpen knives and work on cars and enjoy life. You are missed and remembered this 25th anniversary of your going to heaven.

Lost relatives - Fredrika Scherry McCauley was my great great grandmother, me and my mother were talking about her tonight and she showed me a picture of her on her 105th birthday. She told stories of how she use to watch the NY Yankees from the roof top of her apartment in the Bronx. I am Ethel graces great grand child and have recently learned that there was a family division with the graces and McCauleys. Hoping this finds someone I may not know I’m related to !
Lizzy Canedy:
Uncle Denny - Dennis Canedy was my granduncle. Both of my grandfathers passed away before I was born, so Uncle Denny was essentially my grandfather. He spoke German, played the guitar, and was a World War 2 veteran. He had an eidetic memory and a wonderful ability to tell stories. I wish I could remember more of the stories he told me. I'm so grateful he was in my life for as long as he was, he passed away when I was 12, and I miss him dearly.
Frederick Frank:
A friendly man of many skills - Leonard was a family friend and skilled tradesman who helped out in many ways whether it was helping my aging grandfather to update our former apartment, to help my Dad and Unc when they needed a bartender in a pinch in their Bungalow Inn restaurant , or to help my Unc in remodeling his Fox Lake summer cottage into a year round home. .(which offered Leonard some weekend getaway fringe benefits ).We had several rides in his Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser. whatta cool car! I knew he lived w and was taking care of his Mom We lost touch and saddened to hear of his passing

She holds my name 💗 - My maiden name is Irene Siriotis. I was born two years after Irene passed. I am first generation American and born and raised across the river from her in the suburbs in New York.
I would love to know more about Irene. Were we related somehow? Not a common last name from my understanding, was she also Greek?
Anyone that knew this Irene please share anything you know.
