Printed on the back: Myron May 28, 1927 - edit: I believe this is Myron Twedt and this wedding was probably in Iowa. This is a found image and one found with this identified someone named Myron in Salem, Oregon but as I kept going through the images I found a Myron Twedt (who looks a lot like this person) and he's listed in Iowa. Current theory is that someone from the Twedt family moved from Iowa to Oregon and Myron was visiting.
ANOTHER EDIT: Either Myron Twedt was married more than once, someone wrote the wrong date, or this is not Myron Twedt. I say this because Myron Twedt's headstone says he and Alice were married 12/18/1943.
Just as I was starting to think I had it figured out!

An 'orphan' photo trying to find its way back to family. Nothing is known about this wedding photo except printed on the back: Myron May 28th 1927. Potentially taken in Salem Oregon. How would you go about identifying the people in this photo?
Most abandoned pictures are 'out there' because no one wanted them and they were sold at estate sales or to antique stores. I have a closet full that are going to meet the same fate, unfortunately. If you can find a list of weddings that took place in Salem on that date (newspaper archives or public records) you might have a chance of identifying the people.
Similar situation with this photo and a number of others. The member's husband was cleaning out a home in preparation to sell it and found a pile of nearly 200 photos. The owner who is selling the house has dementia so the realtor suggested just throwing them out. Instead of doing that she is scanning them and adding them to AncientFaces with as many details as she can get out of the photos. We've reunited photos with their families with very little details before so we are hopeful! Good news is that out of the 200 or so photos it only takes 1 to reunite them all with the family 🙂
AncientFaces I once got a message through Ancestry.com from a lady in Texas who had found a photo of a great uncle of mine, and asked if I would like to have it. Of course I said yes!! He had lived in Kansas, where my mother's family is from. It was taken at Christmas, and had his entire family in it, with names on the back.
David Becken i have been going through old albums of my parents (both deceased). So many ohotos of prople I never knew. ....and so many of family members who my children or I barely remember or knew. Been sending those to their family members. We have told our girls, when we are gone ....ant pictures that have no meaning to you...please burn them. Don't want them in a antique shop or whereever.
I also put sticky notes on pictures to identify for my daughters in future.
If the owner of rhe house is known and their family can be traced then the photos should be able to be ...lots of work but with things like ancestry.com much easier these days
AncientFaces if you search on familysearch.org there is a Myron king who married Leona Smith in Oregon 1927 sept. if this photo was an engagement picture or something could be them. probably not likely though
Based on one of the other photos, I believe Myron is the first name of the man. Checking an old newspaper for wedding announcements went through mind but I haven't tried it yet!
Besides reconnecting the family photos with people who want them, some of these might be able to get to people who were friends of someone in the family (for example - Myron's grandchildren who don't know the people in the other pictures but might enjoy this photo).
Myron Silas Twedt, born to Sanna (Reverland) and Marceleus Twedt, was a World War II veteran, married to Alice I. Twedt. He lived in Iowa and had spent some time in Los Angeles Ca.
The 1920s Changed Our Daily Lives & Not How You Might Think . . .
In the 1920's life changed drastically for the average American and for people all over the world. Airplanes began to be a mode of transportation and communication. Automobiles, rather than horses, ...
Antique and old photos showing weddings and anniversaries through the centuries.
Did you know that the white wedding dress was popularized in the West by Queen Victoria in the 1800's? In the East, a red wedding dress is considered good luck.

I am fascinated by old photographs, especially those of my ancestors and ones that show the history of cities I've visited (plus World's Fair photos). Old photographs separated from people who want them seem to be attracted to me which is good if I can find those people but also inconvenient because this is not an easy task.

I'm a Founder of AncientFaces and support the community answering questions & helping members make connections to the past (thus my official title of Founder & Content and Community Support ). For me, it's been a labor of love for over 20 years. I truly believe with all of my heart that everyone should be remembered for generations to come.
I am 2nd generation San Jose and have seen a lot of changes in the area while growing up. We used to be known as the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (because the Valley was covered with orchards and there were many canneries to process the food grown here, which shipped all over the US) - now we have adopted the nickname "Capital of Silicon Valley" and Apple, Ebay, Adobe, Netflix, Facebook, and many more tech companies are within a few miles of my current home in San Jose (including AncientFaces). From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US. I am so very proud of my hometown. For more information see Kathy - Founder & Content and Community Director My family began AncientFaces because we believe that unique photos and stories that show who people are/were should be shared with the world.
