Afternoon with Alta Cain
Martha Holmes & Alta Cain picking stringbeans at the Cain ranch in Alta, Ca. Mama spent alot of her time with Alta when we camped at their place every summer. Alta had a lot of work to do. She baked bread & we use to buy a hot loaf. We use to sit on their steps and watch sunsets. I wrote a story about it for English class & my teacher kept it because she thought it was so well written.
