Mr. Beach Holbrook, age 85, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018. He was born on June 27, 1933 in Bays, Kentucky to James Edward Holbrook and Martha Caudill.

Mr. Holbrook was a resident of Freeport, Florida for 15 years coming from Beaver Creek, Ohio. He was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Beaver Creek, Ohio. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He never met a stranger. He was a jack of all trades. He loved trivia. He was a UK basketball fan. He loved eating cake. He loved the history channel. His favorite restaurant was The Pine Club. He was also the ultimate gentleman.

Mr. Holbrook was preceded in death by his father and mother; his loving wife whom he married on June 18, 1955, Dorothy “Bassie” Ann Rowinski Holbrook; son, Keith Edward Holbrook; two sisters, Judy H. Sakal and Emma Jean Holbrook.

Mr. Holbrook is survived by his daughter, Kathleen H. Sparks and husband Glen of Freeport, Florida; daughter-in-law, Teresa M. Holbrook of Beaver Creek, Ohio; one sister, Lena H. Patrick of Beaver Creek, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, Jessica Rodgers, Erica Sparks, Alexa Sparks, Amy Mowbray, Betsy Engles, Cady Holbrook, and Audrea Holbrook and 7 great grandchildren.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Clary-Glenn Funeral Homes & Crematory is entrusted with the arrangements.

I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
