Obituary
Lewis Edward Holbrook, age 81, of 19963 Hwy 172 W, West Liberty, KY., passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020. Born September 22, 1938 in Relief, KY a son of Charles and Maudie Ferguson Holbrook.

Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Wanda Sue Fraley Holbrook, two sons Ron (Stephanie) Holbrook, Jeff (Shandra) Holbrook. Four grandchildren, Charles, Louis, Samantha and John Holbrook. One sister, Angie Ferguson, special niece and nephew, Machell (Day) Darrell Holbrook, and many other nieces, nephews and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Maudie Ferguson Holbrook and his father & mother- in -law, Ernie & Freida Fraley, three brothers, Hearst, Arthur and Foster Holbrook. One sister Nannie Holbrook and a special nephew, Mike Day. U.S. army veteran with the combat development experimentation center 194th armored brigade. Retired from Inland Steel after 40 years returning home in 1996. He spent his retirement with his wife, family and friend tending his garden, his martins, his bees and living out his passion for the outdoors.

COVID-19 regulations will be followed as set forth by Governor Beshear and the CDC. The family request that visitors respect their desire to keep everyone safe by practicing social distancing guidelines.

Funeral service will be 3:00pm,Sunday,May 31,2020 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Bob Williams officiating. Burial in Paint Valley Memorial Gardens, Crockett, KY. Visitation will be 2:00pm, Sunday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers: Ron Holbrook, Jeff Holbrook, Charles Holbrook, Louis Holbrook, Samantha Holbrook, John Holbrook.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to: St.Jude Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105

I'm a Christian, and I'm a daughter of Allan B. Holbrook, now in heaven. My married name is Debby Stevens.
My parents, Allan and Marie, were devout Christians, and had 10 children. They were both school teachers, but Mom quit teaching at public school after marriage. But both Mom and Dad home-schooled us all - starting when I was in 1st grade - that's when they came to the decision to home-school us. Dad earned an income through being an English teacher here in Traverse City, for man years. Dad started some Bible meetings that took place in the homes of friends of ours and in our own. He was the main teacher in it, and it was in a discoursing style - he would talk about spiritual things with the fathers of the families, each time, and all the children of the families would sit and listen to it all.
