Brandy Southard, John B. Tyler Jr and Cathy Tyler

Brandy Rene Southard was born to William "Brad" Braddy Southard and Rita Fay (Brown) Southard and she had a surviving brother, J.B. (Note: On her death certificate the names of her parents are incorrectly recorded as Sutherland). Brandy was murdered by John Matthew Stephenson, who killed her along with John Jay Tyler (age 29) and Kathy Tyler (age 29). Jay and Kathy had picked up Brandy from her work in Evansville and John Stephenson chased them in his vehicle to an intersection in rural Warrick County. He emptied a 30 round SKS Assault Rifle into their pickup truck and their bodies. He then got out of his vehicle and proceeded to repeatedly stab them. According to the Indiana State Department of Health's Certificate of Death her cause of death is listed as "Hemothorax and cerebral disruption due to gunshot wounds to head and stab wounds to chest." John Stephenson was later convicted of an earlier burglary and theft from Brandy's residence. A copy of the court transcripts and a newspaper article about the events are at Brandy Southard, John B.
