Bruno Raffin- Christian Fenger High School

Bruno Raffin is the son of Italian immigrants Louis Raffin and Sunta Raffin. He was born on April 5, 1916 in Cook County Illinois. He had a brother Albert Raffin who was born in 1905. He grew up in Chicago and was a high school graduate of Fenger High School (Chicago, IL) and went on to attend and gradaute from DePaul University. There he starred in football, wrestling and track and was a 1979 inductee in the Seland-Pullman Sports Hall of Fame. Bruno enlisted in the US military on January 9, 1942, at Cp Grant in Illinois. His military serial number was 36310448, and he was initially assigned to the Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers, USA. He entered the military as a Private and was part of the Selectees (enlisted men) program. He was a four year Army Corps of Engineering Veteran of World War II. Bruno worked as a surveyor and retired in 1986 as vice president of the family owned Raffin Construction Company in Chicago.
