Charles Richard Trommer
Charles Richard Trommer was born on June 25, 1923, in Manhattan, New York City, to David Dewey Daniel Trompeter (1897-1977) and Blanche Lazarus (1898-1988). Sadly, Charles' older brother, Martin Trompeter (1920-1922), did not survive past the age of 2. Charles grew up in New York City and graduated from high school before attending Lowell Technological Institute in Lowell, Massachusetts. In 1949, he graduated from the institute, and in the following year, he graduated from the Lowell Textile Institute. While studying, Charles was a member of Tau Epsilon Sigma and the AATCC. In 1948, Charles married Marina Eria Trommer, and they had a daughter named Karen Trommer Casper and a son, Kenneth Robert Trommer (1949-1973). During World War II, Charles served in the Air Corps. After his military service, he moved to Hawaii, where he became a Professor of Chemistry and Horticulture at the University of Hawaii, Hilo.

My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!
