Charles Wilson "Dutch" Vallance was born 4 Septembet 1907 at Plaska, Hall Co., Texas. He died 19 September 1982 at Memphis, Hall Co., Texas. He was the son of the late Henry Greene Vallance and Anna Jennettie Pearl Yount Vallance of Plaska, Hall Co., Texas. He married Edith Irene Jennings of Texas 10 September 1928. Edith was born 16 April 1912 and died 14 January 1946 in Arroyo Grande, California. They were the parents of two girls. He married Edith Adcock 14 March 1947 in Memphis, Hall Co., Texas. Dutch and Edith Adcock Vallance are buried in the Old Fairview Cemetery, Memphis, Hall Co., Texas in the Vallance plot with Henry and Anna Pearl. Dutch and 1st wife Edith moved to California in the late 1930's and remained there until her death. Dutch worked at odd jobs while there. After his return to Texas and marriage to his 2nd Edith he worked in the grocery business. He was also a night watchman for the Memphis Police Department for several years. After his retirement from the grocery and police business he was a used car salesman. I remember he was a lot of fun and he liked to joke around.
