Charlie Balmos- Brackenridge High School

Charles Louis Balmos was born on May 8, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas to parents James Gerard "George" Balmos (1900-1983) and Margaret Mary Farrish (1906-1971). He had siblings inlcuding an older brother James Jr Balmos and younger sisters Mary Lee Balmos and Margaret Ann Balmos. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War as a Private First Class (PFC) from July 26, 1950, to July 26, 1952. At age 18, he suffered from frost bite, and was one of the 1st quadriplegics to come back home. On September 25, 1976 he married Patricia Walsh in Bexar, Texas, USA. They did not have any children together and divorced about a year later on December 2, 1977. He later married Jackie Balmos and had a son together, Paul Antony Balmos (1959-2000).
