Mack Timberlake
Mack Timberlake Jr. was born in Durham North Carolina to Mack Sr. and Virginia Timberlake. In the 1950 federal census, Mack was just a baby living in Dutchville, Granville with his parents Mack Sr. (age 20) and Virginia (age 21). He was the only child in the household. His father Mack was a farmer at the time, and stated that he worked 60 hours per week. The census reports that Mack Sr. and Virginia were both also born in North Carolina. Mack Jr. married Brenda and they had seven children together, including four girls: La Nica, Christanie, Majesty, and Katiera, and three boys: Marquis, Timothy and Micah. Both Mack and Brenda were co-ministers of their congregation that they began together in 1973 at First Baptist in Durham. Over the years their ministry style evolved to focus on open communication about their marriage, their finances, and how the couple viewed ideal Christians couples should live. According to Mack's obituary, Mack and Brenda "shared a very distinctive ministry style, called team ministry, which took them 10 years to develop." By the time of Mack's passing from 'breathing difficulties' in 2002, their congregation had grown to 60+ full time employees and three thousand members. See 2,000 celebrate famed pastor's life for a detailed article about Mack's 'Celebration of Life'. He lived a long and full life in service to God. Read his obituary at Mack Timberlake: Obituary

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her. For more information about what we're building see About AncientFaces. My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
