David King Schafer

I have an old studio photograph of David SCHAFER of Islip High School in Islip, Long Island, NY. The photograph is dated June 1911 with David likely in his teens at the time the photograph was taken. The photograph was a gift to Harry MARCUS from David. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding David and his family:

David King SCHAFER was b. 24 May 1894 in New York to parents Adolf SCHAFER and Theresia STEIN who were married 18 Sept 1881 in Manhattan, NY. David was one of 5 children born to this couple including Freda; Rae; David King; Etta; and Millicent SCHAFER, all born between 1891 and 1898. David married Rose E. SAGALOV or SAGOLAV (1897-1974) on 14 Sept 1924 in Kings County, NY and they had three children including Lenore; Walter J.; and Donald Lewis or Louis SCHAFER, all born between 1926 and 1932. David died 23 Jun 1987 in North Miami Beach, FL.
