Edward N. Packard and family
I have an old studio photograph of identified as Mary PACKARD, Glen, and the Railroad Man along with one unidentified man which was taken at the Berkemann Studio in Perry, IA. The photograph appears to be a family photograph taken in the early 1900's with Mary and the oldest man likely in their 40's or 50's and the two younger men in their 20's at the time the photograph was taken. I've been able to determine that this is a photograph of Mary TICKNER PACKARD, her sons Glen PACKARD and Fred PACKARD, and her husband Edward N. PACKARD who was a Railroad Engineer.

Based on limited research I was able to gather this information regarding the family:

Edward Norman PACKARD was b. Nov 1859 in Wisconsin to parents Algernon Sidney PACKARD (1815-1907) and Lydia L. IVES (1829-1908). Edward was one of four children born to this couple including Elizabeth F.; Eugene M.; Ariste Nen; and Edward Norman PACKARD, all born between 1849 and 1859. Edward married Mary Louise TICKNER on 9 Nov 1884 in Ashtabula, OH and the couple had four children including Laura; Samuel; Glenn; and Fred Clifton PACKARD, all born between 1886 and 1890. Edward died 24 Apr 1935 in San Diego, CA and is buried in the Edgewood Cemetery in Chillicothe, MO.

Mary Louise TICKNER was b. 23 Jul 1861 in Ashtabula, OH to parents Alfred James TICKNOR or TICKNER (1830-1918) and Elizabeth UDY or LEDY (1838-1874). Mary was one of four children born to this couple including Elizabeth Ann; Mary Louise; Laura Melissa; and James Franklin TICKNER, all born between 1860 and 1867. Mary died 7 Mar 1953 in Westville, IN and is buried in the Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL.

Glenn Edward PACKARD was b. 1886 and married Birdie E. PACKARD (1888-1989). They had a son, Clifton E. PACKARD (1919-2013) and Glenn died in 1974 and is buried in the Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Mishawaka, IN.

Fred Clifton PACKARD was b. 3 Jun 1890 in Illinois and married Alma Montague SWORD (b. 1891) and they had a son, Ronald Emmerson PACKARD (1915-1993). Fred died in 1955 and is buried in the Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL.

In 1910 the family was living in Perry, IA with census records providing the following details:

Edward N. PACKARD, age 48, married 22 years, born WI, parents born NY, a Railroad Engineer
Mary L. PACKARD, wife, age 44, married 22 years, 3 children/2 living, born OH, parents born England/OH
Glen E. PACKARD, son, age 21, born OH, a Private Family Chauffer
Fred C. PACKARD, son, age 19, born IL, a Railroad Worker

I am hoping to see the photograph returned to family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
