Eldridge Smith
I have an old studio photograph of Eldridge SMITH which was taken at the Thompson Studio in Norwich, CT. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870’s or 1880’s with Eldridge appearing to be in his 40’s or 50’s at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Eldridge and his family:

Eldridge SMITH was b. abt 12 Sept 1820 in Waterbury, CT to parents Edward A. SMITH (1795-1823) and Sally HOTCHKISS (1798-1876). Eldridge was one of four children born to this couple including Esther Hotchkiss; Eldridge; Elliott; and Edward Arnold SMITH, all born between 1818 and 1823. Eldridge was married to Frances DELAVAN (d. 1899) in 1846 in Naugatuck, CT and they had one son, Doane Leslie SMITH (1847-1848). Eldridge died 11 Dec 1893 in Naugatuck, CT and is buried in the Hillside Cemetery in Naugatuck, CT.

I’d like to get this photograph to Eldridge’s family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
