Based on the fashion, this wedding photo looks to have been taken around the early 1920s?

It took longer to get the shot back than so they had to hold their expressions and poses longer. Thus they often opted for less "fun/happy" expressions as they can be harder to keep still.
If they smiled the photo was usually blurred. They had to stay extremely still and it took awhile to take the photo :)
It wasn't uncommon back then for couples to look rather serious. I could post a similar one.
His suit looks way to small and the look on the woman's face is of disgust. He of course has a smirk! lol

I love his high-waters. The dress is beautiful. The sour face could be her trying to repress a smile. Maybe something funny happened off camera. ;)
I find the pose strange...why her back to him...why not sitting on the chair
They stood to show off the dress. If they sat, the dress got very crushed. That's also the reason why men sat and women stood in these old wedding photos.

She looks THRILLED to be married, lol. I know they kept straight faces for pictures back then since it took so long to 'take', but wow. And his suit pants! That wasn't actually a fashion, was it??
Albert valentine Schekoshe and Emma Auguste Marquardt married in Queensland in 1927 and immediately set up house in Murgon until they moved to Pialba in the mid 1950's and finally returned to Wondai in the 1970's. He died in 1981. This information found on [external link]. No mention of why emma was looking so sour on her wedding day.

I think that is probably true because someone had said something like this about some other photos.It said it took a long period of time to get the picture.I wondered if this was a borrowed suit .I'm not sure if hey had formal rentals when this was taken.All in all a nice picture.
None of my relatives are smiling in any of their old pictures.

My sister wore a veil a lot like hers. She wore a long gown, but the similar. She was married in the late 30's, so the style lasted, and I can see why.

Handsome groom! The bride kooks a lot younger than him. I wonder if their marriage lasted. Would like to see pictures later on of them.
She may have had bad teeth and was reluctant to smile and show them. Why so mean, people?
Love the dress and veil, but man, I don't think I've ever seen a bride look so grim. I know many of these pics they didn't smile, but many brides had a soft look about them, dreamy etc. I think we know who ruled this household.

Albert and Emma were happily married but produced no children--he is my first cousin twice removed. He was 24 and she 27 when they married.
She should look thrilled she got such a handsome man with a face like hers. Maybe he married money.
