Florence and Paul Leon Foster

Paul Leon Foster was born on January 19, 1916 at Muskogee, OK, Broken Arrow, OK, OK , USA. He was born to Bedford Leon Foster and Delma Sue Jenkins, and was an only child. He died on October 14, 1988 at Tulsa, OK at age 72. **Paul Leon Foster lost his father at the age of four years. By the time he was in the third grade his widowed mother pulled him out to replace his school years toward supporting the family’s income by picking cotton. His self sufficiency led him into the registering into the United States Army. There he was the Head Baker over the Prisoners of War in World War II and eventually chauffeured the Captain of his Division when needed. Earning recognition as a Expert Rifleman, earned WWII Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and an American Theater Ribbon. After the Army he learned the trade of painting residential and commercial buildings through an older brother. He was self taught playing the guitar by ear and loved fishing as much as possible. He married only once meeting his future wife of 42 years while he was in the service, help raising a stepson raising three of his own. His VA benefits provided the family with a home where he and his wife resided until their death. This is written by his daughter Carelen
