Fred Leonard

I've recovered an old photograph album from the late 1800's including faculty and students from Oberlin College which includes photographs belonging to the LEONARD Family. The photographs appear to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's including photographs of Fred LEONARD and Arthur LEONARD, both likely in their 20's at the time they were taken. Most of the photographs, like these were by the Pfeifer Studio from Columbus, OH who probably came to take all the photographs at the Oberlin campus. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family:

Arthur Gray LEONARD was b. 1865 in Clinton, NY to parents Delavan Levant LEONARD (1834-1917) and Mary Louise or Louisa RAYMOND (1838-1902). Arthur was one of 5 children including Arthur Gray; Fred Eugene; Harry Raymond; Ella Louise; and Kate Bowne or Brown LEONARD, all born between 1865 and 1875. Arthur married Catherine or Katherine Minnie or Moinie GUE (1872-1963) on 8 Oct 1901 and he died on 17 Dec 1932 in Grand Forks, ND and his ashes were buried in the Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin, OH.

His brother Fred Eugene LEONARD was b. 2 Jun 1866 in Darlington, WI to the same parents and he married Bertha M. HOPKINS (1879-1944) in 1908 and they had three children including Robert Hopkins; Margaret H.; and Barbara H. LEONARD, all born between 1911 and 1916. Fred died 10 Dec 1922 in Oberlin, OH and he is also buried in the Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin.
