PA doesn't get snow non stop in the Winter. I lived there for 12 years in the Poconos, 1 year on the other side in Pittsburgh. 😊 Some areas are more prone to snow, but so many variables go into it.

A quick genealogy search shows a Gamble Coons Alexander was from Metal,Franklin, Pa. Born July 20, 1898. His WWI draft registration gives his home as Willow Hill, Franklin, Pa. he was a 20 year old farmer. Census records show he was one of 7 children his father was also a farmer. He is listed as tall, light hair and blue eyes on the WWI draft info. Sure seems like the young man in the photo but that doesn't explain the strange outfit!

I posted the picture of Gamble Alexander. He was a step-cousin of my Father. I don't know what the occasion was that he was dressed like that, but I have always liked that picture. He died at age 19 in Kansas City, KS of pneumonia. He was there attending a school.
