A picture of Goldie (Mentzer) Waters, Irene (Mentzer) Hall, and their brother, Raymond Ira Mentzer.Goldie was born in 1917, Irene was born in 1914, and Raymond was born in 1912. Therefore, a date for the picture would be early 1920's.

A photo of John Sidney McCain III - son and grandson of 4 star admirals in the U.S. Navy.

He attended the United States Naval Academy (graduating, as he joked, 5th from the bottom in his class in 1958 - he was a bit of a rebel) and after graduation became a naval aviator. In 1967, he requested combat duty and was assigned to an aircraft carrier in the Gulf in Tonkin. On October 26, 1967 his plane was shot down and he became a prisoner of war.

After 5 and a half years as a prisoner of war and being severely tortured, John was released. The physical effects of his torture lasted the rest of his life.

In the early 1980s, he entered politics in the state of Arizona, eventually becoming a U.S. Senator. While he was nominated for President by the Republican Party in 2008, he lost the race to Democrat Barack Obama. He remained the senior Senator from Arizona until his death from brain cancer in 2018.

It was sent from my uncle, John Lynn Mort, to my father, Norman Allen Mort, in Fannettsburg, PA in 1915, The writing on the back says: Sending you a picture of my hotel in K.C.Received your letter ok. I willl write you a letter later as news from this end is scarce. The jury on the Hyde trial disagreed. Guess you've been reading about it. Are you teaching Venus to read? Lynn. This is a picture of my sister, Mary (Mort) Vocke and her husband, Bill Vocke, when they were participating in an EMT training practice to extract injured people from a vehicle accident, taken in November 1990. Both were volunteer EMT's for many years in Fannettsburg, PA.

This is a picture of my father, Norman Allen Mort, when he was a mail carrier in Franklin County, PA.. Note the pistol stuck in his belt. At that time, rural mail carriers were allowed to carry a firearm because of holdups, as back in 1921 many people sent cash through the mail--no debit cards or ATM's then.

This is a picture of my grandparents, William McElheney Heckman and Nannie Heckman, with their family on an outing to a fire tower on the Tuscarora Mountains in PA.The date at the top seems to be 1923.
