Long time community member Roxie is on a mission to reunite old photos with their families. When she finds a photo in an antique shop she purchases it, does research to identify it, and shares her findings on AncientFaces, Ancestry, FamilySearch and Find-a-Grave.
She found this photo in an antique shop in Texas and had little to go on with just a name and the photographer's details. With this information she started investigating and began building his biography
o that family members would find him.
James Alexander Jone's biography is far from complete, but with this photo, his family tree, and birth and death date, this biography exists so that family members can find it and share what they know so that he is always remembered
I have a whole stack of family photos. Most of whom I have no ID for. Don't even know what the heck to do with them. Scanned all of them. They are all from my dad's side of the family. Some people we know who they are. Dad has passed, as well as all his siblings. No one to ask.
Kristina Yager That is frustrating - and upsetting. All of them must have been important to someone in your family! All of us, in one degree or another, have had this problem. It's one of the reasons my family created www.AncientFaces.com You might share your photos there (it's free) and someone could recognize them. It has happened - many, many times. We have a "lost and found" tag for those photos!

I love antique photographs. In addition to sharing old photos of my family, I am also going through my collection of "antique store people". They've been sitting in a storage tub in my back room much too long and maybe some of their families will be able to find them here.
If I'm able to identify the people in the photo, I upload it not only to AncientFaces, but also to Ancestry, FamilySearch, and Find-A-Grave. If the person in the picture is a military veteran, the photo also goes on Fold3. I figure that the more places I upload these pictures, the greater the chance that a relative will be able to find them.
