Look at this early 1900s hairstyle and mustache. John Utmar, born Giovanni Utmar in Croatia, immigrated to New York and worked for 2 years as a baker before earning enough money to bring his wife & daughter to him. He had 4 children before dying of influenza.

Nancy; times have changed, immigrants legally welcome. Conversation concerning the changing times should always stay moot / mute; especially when addressing such an audience.

America accepts all LEGAL immigrants. This man WORKED hard to bring his family to a better life. Nothing was handed to him. No food stamps, medical care, or public assistance of any kind. It's men and women like this who made our country strong.

my ancestors came here and worked to make their own life. It's a damn shame how illegal immigrants come to this country now and expect to have everything handed to them on a silver plate. They are lacking in pride and this government has lost all credibility.

I remember the movie "Wyatt Erp: The Legend of Tombstone". He is a hard working man to work for 2 years alone just to bring his family to him.

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her. For more information about what we're building see About AncientFaces. My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
