Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor was the first child of the Duke of York (later King George VI) and the Duchess of York, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (later Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother). She served as Queen of England after her father, George VI, died in 1952, serving until she died on September 8th 2022. Her reign was 70 years and 7 months, the longest of any monarch of Great Britain.
Elizabeth had one sister, Margaret (1930 - 2002), later the Countess of Snowdon.
Queen Elizabeth II, as she was officially known, married Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh (1921 - 2021) in 1947, before she became Queen. Prince Philip's father was Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark, and his mother was Princess Alice of Battenberg.
They had 4 children: Charles, who is now the King Charles III of the United Kingdom, Anne, Princess Royal, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.
