My great grandma, she helped raise my Dad and his brothers. She was a wonderful caring person. She could make the best biscuits! She lived in an old bus that was transfored into her home. She had a large, deep feather bed. You'd sink way down in it. My Dad really loved her.

Wow! This was my great-great grandmother. I was reading an article about the Catawba indians in white top and am curious if she had Indian heritage. I've heard lots of stories about her and my mom has shown me the curve where her bus was. My mom loved her!
That's fantastic Sandra!! What a way to start a weekend! :) I hope you share some of the stories you heard about Ettie on her biography at L Ettie (Johnson) Hamm
We had a wonderful grandmother. I'm glad you remember seeing her bus home. They eventually got her a trailer. I don't know too much about her ancestry. She does look like she has Indian in her. Lots of people loved her. Nice to meet you cousin!
I just saw your comment from a couple of years ago.. Sorry. Hi cousin! My Dad was W Douglas Hamm and his mom was Ettie daughter, Lockie Hamm. How are you related?
L Ettie (Johnson) Hamm was born in 1889, and died at age 100 years old in 1989. Family, friend, or fan, this family history biography is for you to remember L Ettie (Johnson) Hamm.
I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth.
So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her.

My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
