Lisa Dawn (Urick) Patterson was born on September 5th, 1963 in Nolan, Texas, to Sam Leldon Urick and Garland Bel Smith. She had one brother, Sam.
Lisa Urick married Gary Lynn "Pat" Patterson (1963-1997) on July 28, 1984 in Burleson County, Texas. They had a daughter named Crystal together, and divorced on September 11, 1992 in McLennan County, Texas.
A report on "Oxygen" said that after Lisa and Gary divorced, Lisa disappeared with their daughter for two years. However, in May of 1997 Gary also disappeared. His current girlfriend and his ex-wife, Lisa, were both ruled out as suspects in his disappearance, as was his former father-in-Law, Lisa's father.
Eventually, it was found that Gary Patterson had been murdered. He was hit with a blunt instrument and buried alive. In September of 1999, Lisa's father, Sam Urick, and his business associate, Theodore Young, pled guilty to Patterson’s murder, and Lisa admitted to prior knowledge of the murder plot.
Young received 20 years for his role in the crime and was released after 17 years in 2018. Lisa Patterson received three years, which was added to the two years she was serving for a parole violation. She served five years in full before her death in 2005.
Lisa's father, Sam, was considered to be the "mastermind" of the killing and was sentenced to life. As of September of 2023, he was 86 years old and still in prison.

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth.
So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her.

My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
