Man seated, with guitar
Taken in Creve Coeur, Illinois in the 1950's at either Kozee Inn or The Log Cabin Inn. These 4 photos were found in the possessions of Geraldine Gregg when she passed away.

Would love to be able to identify them.

Looks Like a Gretch
According to San Jose RockShop () That is a 6122! Chet Atkins Country Gentleman. It had to have been manufactured between 1957 (when the model was released) and 1960 as this is when the single cutaway was the only line available. The binding around the F hole makes me believe that it is closer to a '57. The F hole is actually paint. The binding accented this look to make it seem deeper. Actual F holes weren't added to the model until 1972 except for a few rare special orders. The notation on the pickguard is actually the Chet Atkins signpost which also leads one to assume that this is one of the earlier models. Today the guitar would lowball for 2300 and go upwards of 6500. A very unique and wonderful guitar indeed!

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her. For more information about what we're building see About AncientFaces. My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
